This weekend was fun. I went to Howl at the Moon with Jen, Mel, and Karma. This was good bonding time with my future boss.
Otherwise the weekend was eventless. Saturday I got up and took it easy. I had this realization about the positive Muncie. For instance, I got up to make some cereal, but I was out of milk. So I walked over to the Village Pantry for some milk. The girl working is the one that I usually see, and we struck up a conversation about different things. As I was walking back, I waved to a couple of workers I casually know at different stores. The fact that I experience a friendly Muncie this morning has nothing to do with the positives of Muncie. Instead, it made me think of what Muncie had going for it. Basically, it's cheap to live in Muncie. You can easily find a rental for $200/month. In our class we are making a neighborhood plan for a west side Muncie neighborhood. You can easily buy an awesome, historical, Victorian house for under $200,000. I know a lot of friends that stayed in Muncie because it's cheap to rent here; it has nothing to do with the job market, because the job market sucks in Muncie. But, if educated people start hanging around Muncie it has a good position to attract more jobs. Especially since Ball State is here. These factors can easily attract an arts group of people. Artsy people are good, and eventually the city will become an overpriced center for Yuppies.
That doesn't mean I'm staying. I'm leaving. But, hey, there are good things about Muncie.
We're leaving for Mississippi Wednesday. We get to pick up a university van and rode-trip down to the Gulf Coast. This is brining back memories of the Interstate Dance Party 2004. Send me a request to view the video. It explains why I am such good friends with everyone in my planning studio.

Work
Today was hectic at work. One of the most hectic days I have experienced at this job. My boss was pretty worried about getting stuff done, and was a little concern that I was a little late. After I got to work, he asked me if I was on Central Time. I almost took him seriously, but I guess Carmen bet him couldn't be mean. She was right. He gave us a list of the things we had to accomplish, and it was a lot. The problem was, Carmen and I were hungry and we enjoy eating bagels at Einstein's. So we decided this was an OK decision. To save time, we thought we could walk through the mall to Einstein's instead of on the street. After doing so, we found out that it didn't save any time. So that was cool. Upon arrival at Einstein's we ordered our bagel and then ate it there. There were two CIA people there who were visiting Indianapolis due to the president's arrival. Carmen an I were pretty excited that THEE George W. Bush was so close to us – and some of his CIA agents were eating bagels with us. Wow. So we headed back to work. Maybe I'll vote Republican. Oh wait, I wasn't invited to go see him.
The rest of the day continued with little entertainment. It was just hectic. Two hours after our bagel run we debated going to Jimmy John's, but we decided to work through lunch. This is a first in my book. I just didn't feel like walking all the way to Jimmy John's – two store fronts down.
At one point during the day, I accidentally prank called Carmen's husband. I was scanning stuff, and thus was bored. So I decided to call Carmen in the other room. Instead her husband picked up, and he was obviously not Carmen. This flustered me: I paused, and then hung up. Carmen had to call him back and apologize. The day ended when the scanner broke, and we had to call it quits. This really sucked because I had to go home.
But actually, I was really tired. So my cat and I decided to order pizza and stay in for tonight. It's pretty nice.
I started recruiting people to move to London, Boston, or San Francisco with me. I got a few people to sign up at Motini's. (Although Denver doesn't sound too bad, eh?).
We're going to Mississippi on Wednesday to Sunday. I get to drive my car. It will be a pretty fun road trip, I think. Or as fun as Mississippi can be. (Stopping in Nashville, maybe!)

Smoke
I just got back from Motini's, and I wanted to make a political pitch. Imagine me, making a political pitch....
So, I was sitting at the MT Cup doing some homework. I guess they started an Open Mic Night at Motnini's Tuesdays nights, so says the girl serving me coffee. (I've seen the girl at many concerts here of lately, but that's besides the point). So I'm sitting there doing my homework, and I can already smell the smoke radiating from the upstairs. Anyway, my friend Arrah comes in and tells me they will be playing at 11ish, and I decide I can't miss it. That's when I got mad. In order to see her play, I had to walk back to my apartment, change into what I call my smoking outfit, and head back. Usually when I go out, I'm prepared to smell like smoke. But tonight I want to watch a half an hour performance, and to do this I had to change. Have people heard of ventilation? Seriously. The downtown bars are worse, but Miles's bars are runners up. I was just in California. No smoke anywhere. Same with Bloomington, Indiana. You can visit the bars without doing laundry the next day (or frebreez). It's an amazing concept.
I can't complain that much. I usually like the smoky bar atmosphere. And most my friend socially smoke. I'm just selfish because I refuse to start. Anyway, I totally enjoyed tonight. I went up to Motini's had a few drinks and watched the performers. This was an awesome ending to a Tuesday. I'm glad the MT Cup brought back open mic night. (Although I spent more then planned on alcohol especially in an hour's time). I saw Arrah, and now I have a little buzz. Hmm.
Well, it's past my bedtime. But I am skipping my 8am meeting tomorrow, because I am going to my second post-surgery follow up appointment. It's at 2:00, but I figured I could use it as an excuse to skip the meeting. I don't want to go. I'm not tired, either. I'm waiting for the martini and the coke and rum to wear off. Then I will be tired. Like I said before: I'm buzzed.
BTW, I reek of smoke. I was in Motnins for an hour. Oh yeah, the girl at MT Cup also said the new bar (Moe's) wasn't done yet. I had a sign of relief. I guess they only opened the bar for a preview weekend last weekend, and their still finishing it. It used to be an awesome band venue, but it was really crappy last weekend. And not cool crappy. It was no-character crappy.

Caffeine
I've told several people that I gave up caffeine. This is a lie. If you believed me, you're gullible, and you need to work on that problem. The fact is I have been drinking more coffee then ever. Specially, three thermoses's a day. This consumption keeps me alive, I contend. If I didn't drink coffee in the morning or afternoon, I wouldn't survive my commute from Muncie to Indy. Let's analyze this situation: I am consuming coffee because I have to make a retarded commute to Indianapolis. I have to commute because I was given an assistantship in Indy, even after I was told I would have one inMuncie. Therefore, the department can be blamed for my downfall of caffeine consumption (and lying). The irony in this situation is Carmon and I can't seem to make coffee correctly at work, even though we are experts at home. How ironic that the planning department produced my addiction to coffee, yet I can't replicate this downfall for the department?
Reason 387 on why I hate the planning department: caffeine addiction.
